PAFP 46th Anniversary and Annual Convention PICC March 1, 2, 3, 2007


The Philippine Academy of Family Physicians proudly announces their 46th Anniversary and Annual Convention at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Manila, will be held on March 1, 2, and 3, 2007. Its theme will be" Looking Back, Moving Forward from Illness to Wellness".

Guidelines:

1. Deadline for pre-registration: January 31, 2007.

2. Refund of Registration fees:
If refund is done:
before February 15, 2007 – 50% of the registration fee will be refunded

Guidelines for the Convention Participants and Guests

GUIDELINES FOR CONVENTION PARTICIPANTS AND GUESTS

1. No I.D., no entry will be enforced in all activities. A fee of P200.00 will be enforced for lost I.D. cards.

2. The convention is a no-smoking convention.

3. Children are not allowed to enter the convention site.

4. Pre-registered participants can get their convention kits at the Pre-registration Counter located at the Registration Area, Ground Floor of the Secretariat Building, PICC starting February 28, 2007 at 9 am.

5. Scientific sessions and Luncheon Symposia will be held at the following venues and functions rooms. (The Philippine International Convention Center).

a. Meeting Rooms 2 & 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, Banquet Hall, East Wing Hall, West Wing Hall, Media Center and Forum 3.

b. For the luncheon symposia: FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED BASIS, SEATING CAPACITY ONLY, NO RESERVATION POLICY will be implemented. Meal tickets will be distributed an hour prior to the session by the PAFP. Loss meal tickets will not be replaced.

6. Sessions on the use of the computer will be at Function Room B, PICC. Two participants per chapter are scheduled to attend the 2 hour session.

7. Fellowship and Socials will be held at the ballroom of the Sofitel Philippine Plaza on March 2, 2007.

8. Closing Ceremonies will be held at the ballroom of the Sofitel Philippine Plaza on March 3, 2007.

9. Oath Taking Ceremonies for new members will be held at MR 4, PICC on March 1, 2007 at 3:00 P.M. before the General Assembly. Please sign up at the Registration Counter on March 1, 2007 from 9:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M.

10. Election related activities will be held at the Media Center, Ground Floor, Secretariat Building, PICC on March 2, 2007 from 8:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.
11. Pharmaceutical Hospitality Areas and Booth Exhibits are located at Forum 1 and Forum 2 of the Philippine International Convention Center. Opening schedule is as follows;

· Passports to Pharmaceutical Hospitality Areas and Booth Exhibits are already incorporated in the souvenir program. Lost BOOTH PASSPORTS will not be replaced. Only completely marked passports will be eligible for the raffle prizes to be drawn on March 3, 2007.

12. There will be a FUN RUN on March 3, 2007 at 6:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. at the Rizal Stadium. Please register at the Registration Area (Registration Lobby).

13. Accreditation pamphlets are already incorporated in the Souvenir Program. Regular members, Certified Family Physicians and Diplomates are required to fill-up accreditation pamphlets and submit pamphlets at the end of the day. Drop boxes may be found in strategic places. Drop boxes will be collected at 5:00 P.M. daily.

14. Certificates of appearance will be issued on March 3, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. No proxy. You have to get your own and sign as you receive the certificate.

15. Evaluation feedback forms will be incorporated in the souvenir program. Please accomplish the form and submit to the PAFP Secretariat.

16. Dress Restrictions: no maong, no slippers (flip-flops)

Departmental/Chapter Poster Exhibits

DEPARTMENTAL / CHAPTER POSTER EXHIBITS:

The Poster Session is an opportunity to show the best practices of a chapter or department. The Poster Session follows the general outlines of a scientific paper.

* Site of Poster Session is at the Forum 2 of PICC

* Size of exhibit boards: 7 feet (Vertical) 2.5 feet (Horizontal)

* Allocation of boards will be on a first come and first serve basis.

* Exhibitors are expected to provide their own tacks and/or tape to affix posters.

* Text layout: A short and comprehensive review of the best practices following the convention’s theme, “Family Medicine: Looking Back, Moving forward – from Illness to Wellness”. The text can be divided into several clearly delineated paragraphs. Posters should be printed with a minimum ½ cm and typed so that it can be read at a distance of 1 meter.

* Exhibit boards will be in place by 1:00 PM of February 28, 2007. Exhibit boards display should be ready on the evening of February 28, 2007. Exhibits open on March 1, 2007 at 1:00 PM. Exhibits close on March 3, 2007 at 5:00 PM. Display of posters will be throughout the 3-day convention from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
